Better Late than Never...

Happy Holidays! I've been remiss in posting on account of being incredibly busy, both in fulfilling commissions (mostly holiday orders, but I already have a few non-holiday commissions in the works...more on commissions in a later post!) and packaging and shipping etsy orders. I even missed my one year anniversary of the blog, on December 5th! It's actually been a super exciting year for me in regards to fine art, and I wanted to thank all of you who follow me here and on instagram for being a part of it! I started the blog a year ago, and within that year I also started my instagram. More than 30 of my sketches and paintings have found new homes via etsy, not to mention the handful of commissions. I've hit one year of meeting up with my urban sketchers group and one year of really producing fine art on a weekly (if not daily) basis. And it feels great! Hoping in 2017 I can start selling prints, and maybe start a Rambling Sketcher facebook geared just as much at sharing the work of other artists as my own. I also have an illustrative series I want to launch (stay tuned) and am hoping to start making more (slow) progress on a large scale acrylic series I've had brewing for a few years now. Really even if I accomplish some of those things while continuing all of my current work load, I'll be thrilled!

To start catching y'all up on what I've been doing, here are two paintings I did in Brooklyn Bridge Park (my favorite place to sketch in the city) one afternoon in November. I was hoping to catch a great sunset but it didn't seem to be in the cards. Still, an afternoon spent painting a gorgeous bridge is still tops in my books.
